MICRO FINANCING

Providing income generating opportunities to help parents afford their children’s education cost

Locals in Koutaya and the surrounding areas face a severe job drought, compounded by systemic barriers and deep inequality. Driven by necessity, families must find their own ways to provide for their children, despite the odds being stacked against them.

As part of URBOND Child Education’s holistic approach to breaking the cycle of poverty, our micro financing programme provides critical financial support that enables parents and caregivers to generate income, afford the costs associated with educating their children and sustainably support their families.

We work closely with community members to provide:

o Access to finance: Small, flexible loans to launch and grow local businesses.
o Financial training: Essential financial literacy and practical business skills.
o Ongoing support: Mentorship and peer networks to ensure long-term sustainability.

By supporting local entrepreneurs, farmers and community groups, this micro finance initiative helps families create income, build assets and improve their overall quality of life. These small investments lead to big changes, stronger families, thriving local businesses and more resilient communities.

Micro finance plays a vital role in reducing poverty and promoting financial inclusion. Through community based approaches and flexible repayment terms, URBOND Child Education empowers families to turn ideas into opportunities and opportunities into sustainable success, ensuring children are not forced out of education due to economic hardship.
