A Heartfelt Farewell After a Journey of Impact
Day 12 marked the final chapter of our incredible trip to the Republic of Guinea, where our team has been working tirelessly to help improve child education and empower local communities.
It was a slower start to the morning as we packed up our luggage at the hotel. Around 10am, we were honoured with a special visit from one of the Minister’s advisors, who joined us for breakfast and shared words of appreciation and support for the work URBOND Volunteers has been undertaking in Guinea.
After breakfast, we made our way to the URBOND Child Education Training Centre, where the space was filled with beneficiaries, local partners and our wonderful team on the ground. The atmosphere was emotional and uplifting as we spent over an hour engaging, reflecting and saying our goodbyes. Their gratitude and the visible impact of our collective efforts remind us exactly why we do this work.
We then returned to the hotel for final packing before heading to the airport. After check-in, we met with the Commissar of the airport to thank him personally for his support throughout our stay. A quick dinner later, it was time to board our flight back to the UK.
This trip has been a remarkable success. So much has been achieved, and the impact created will continue to benefit children and families for generations to come. None of this would be possible without our incredible sponsors, volunteers, supporters and donors.
