Walking Together to Shine a Light on Child Education!
Day 11 of our journey with URBOND Child Education Volunteers began bright and early at 5:30am, Volunteers rose with enthusiasm, shared a quick cup of coffee and gathered at the local authority by 6:00am. There, we were warmly joined by members of the local community and participants from the surrounding villages and cities of Dubreka, all united by one purpose: to champion the cause of child education.
This day marked the fourth edition of the URBOND Child Education Semi-Marathon in Dubreka, a signature event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of giving every child access to quality education. The atmosphere was electric as hundreds of people came together from local authorities and community leaders to representatives of the local radio, national television, and even visitors from the capital city.
At 8:00am, the semi-marathon officially began. The spirit of unity and determination was truly inspiring, reflecting a shared belief that education is the key to a brighter future for every child. By 11:00am the event concluded, but the energy and excitement lingered. Volunteers and participants celebrated together, proud to have contributed to such a meaningful cause. The event was not only a success in numbers but also in impact, spreading a powerful message across Dubreka and beyond.
As we look ahead to next year, we are already preparing for the fifth edition, which promises to be bigger and better than ever. With growing community support and a shared vision for change, we are confident that our movement for child education will continue to reach new heights.
