BUILDING NEW SCHOOLS

Many children in rural areas cannot access a school and will not receive a formal education. Even more troubling, others will make perilous journeys over long distances just to go to school. Education should be accessible for all. And that’s why here at URBOND we’re working with communities which have a great need for more accessible and improved schooling, and providing education where it is urgently required. Your donations really do help us deliver these vital projects, and will contribute towards, and greatly support, the Building Schools campaign.
260 million children were still out of school in 2018. Nearly one fifth of the global population in that age group.
More than half of children that have not enrolled in school live in sub-Saharan Africa

WE HAVE BUILT A NEW SCHOOL

Koutaya is a village in the Republic of Guinea (with a population of around 3,000 people) that had no available schools situated locally. To attend the nearest schools children had to walk distances of 5km-10km each day, with many of those also having to make a dangerous water crossing.

In 2021 URBOND representatives identified the significant educational shortfall within the region and moved to secure land on which to build a school to help overcome these issues.
On the volunteers trip in 2025 we officially opened the school with 2 classes filled. Each year the new intake will increase the classes until we have 6. This project has vastly improved the educational opportunities for this community and has made learning accessible to local children.
But we are not finished yet. The school needs a kitchen so the kids can have a meal at luchtime and an Admin block for the teachers. All of this desperately needs funding. So please use the button below to make a donation and help change lives.
